Have you seen these ELF Shimmer Gloss Collection Sets at Target for $5?
I see the ELF sets all the time, but have never bought one before. Especially the lipgloss one, because, really the individual lip glosses are $1 so how is 4 for $5 a deal? The problem is (at least where I live) they only have like 2 color choices for the ELF lip glosses, whereas in this set there are 4… hmmm. I sat in front of the display fighting internally in my head over the issue, and came to the conclusion that a) though i own like 263, 000 lip products it seems I can never find one in my purse when I am out and about so a few cheap ones for my purse WOULD be beneficial and b) i have a cosmetic shopping addiction problem as I was at Target for an SD card for my camera… and left with cosmetics. Yep.
So here are the glosses inside the set:
The colors are (from top to bottom in picture above) New York City, Maui, Pink, and Victoria.
Here is how they look on:
And New York City:
And guess what? They advertise on the front of the box it comes with a “Beauty Tutorial” which is as follows on the back of the box:
“1. Apply one to two coats to lips as often as desired.
2. Wear alone or add to lip color to add that extra shimmery sparkle.”
That was worth the extra $1 alone! Lip gloss instructions! (Insert my sarcastic eye roll right here) If I was writing lip gloss instructions it would be “Go ahead, put it on. Hey are you still reading this?” (Bryan Regan reference, anyone?)
Anyhow here is my take on this product. If you were buying it as a gift for a junior high girl, go for it. If you are buying it to supplement your purse because you somehow manage to lose every lip product that enters it… buy it. If you are buying it because you want some really nice lip glosses with great color pigment and lasting wear… buy something else.
Happy Friday everyone, I am leaving for the ocean tomorrow morning so I am SO EXCITED! Hope you have an amazing weekend!
